Got an offline message from the artist in question that I mentioned (without mentioning names) in this entry, regarding the similarity of our art pieces.
He had come across my blog post, and said his approach would have been a conversation. I really do feel like a jerk for posting about that now, & sent him an apology:
hey -- i am really sorry about all that :( almost forgot i had blogged about that... please don't take it personally, i didn't feel it would be right to bring it up, i didn't want to accuse you of anything -- i realize that artists often have the same ideas.. that post was mostly my own insecurities showing through.
that was why i posted it on my blog rather than say anything to you; i didn't want to be petty, was just feeling a little disappointed maybe that someone has the same idea as me, that's all.
I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. However, this blog is a place where I'll be recording my own feelings and thoughts as well as my art projects. A lot of what I say isn't going to be pretty or censored. I tend to use this blog as a way to vent about things that bother me when confrontation won't solve anything. For the sake of anyone who may read this, any emotional blatherings, or anything that someone might take personally, will be posted behind a cut. That way, people can choose to read these entries or skip them.
