In honor of Cinco de Mayo, L and I got some take-out from a tiny, authentic Mexican restaurant which is within walking distance of our place, called Sarapes. We drive by the place all the time, and figured today would be a good day to try it out.
Some of the things we tried were Puerco en Pipian, a carnitas-style sandwich (on a soft roll with avocado, onion, & sour cream), and horchata (which was recommended by our friend, Emi). We cracked open a couple of Coronas and ate... mmm, good stuff.
Picked up some stuff at the store beforehand for snacks later on -- tortilla chips, avocados, and other ingredients to make guacamole (which I fucking LOVE). Plus, we still have a few beers. SO glad it's the fucking weekend.
