Almost 3:30 a.m. but my eyes are still wide open.
I'm generally pretty nocturnal but for the past month or so, it's become increasingly difficult to sleep when it's dark out.
Even if I get a little sleepy, my eyes are wide open, my mind is awake, my soul is awake.
And in these past few weeks it has become more and more difficult to suppress this part of my nature. So much so that I am honestly thinking about switching to night hours at work -- as much as I hate the thought of working at night, maybe it would be easier for me to deal with. I just can't make myself go to sleep before 2 a.m. anymore.
Last week, I fell over and over into the same pattern: I'd come home from work, exhausted, around 5 or 6 p.m.; then I'd try to stay awake but pass out by 7-ish; then wake up again anywhere from 10-midnight. And I wouldn't be able to get back to sleep until 2 a.m., 3 a.m... then have to wake up at 7 to get ready for work -- and be a fucking mess at work, completely zombified. I just can't keep UP with it anymore; it's fucking DRAINING me.
